in the world is a Webdillo?
That's a great question! First of all, dillo is short for armadillo, an animal I have been obsessed with for as long as I can remember. In case you've never seen one, the photograph here is of a nine-banded armadillo, the cat-sized mammal commonly found in the southeastern United States. Although I am not from Texas (where the armadillo is a state mascot), as a teenager I nevertheless became fascinated by armadillos while working on a school project. A little while later, while on a school field trip in southern Mexico, I found my first ceramic armadillo, and became hooked on collecting everything and anything to do with armadillos. In the intervening years, my collection has grown to the point where my interior decorating now centers around the positioning of the various dillos...
And the web part? Well that's short for world wide web, of course! As I've watched the Internet grow in the past decade (mostly as a spectator), I have felt a strong pull to more fully participate in this most remarkable global experiment. The potential for every person on the earth to participate in one grand project of interconnectedness just inspires me a whole lot! So I decided to become truly involved by offering my creative skills and vision to the world wide web. As the Webdillo, I hope to enable others who might not have the time or technical inclination to learn web site design, to nevertheless make their own mark online. There's room on the web for all of us!
So, you seeput web and dillo together, and you have Webdillo It makes perfect sense!
